The Management Plan is the primary document prepared by Council each year. It outlines what actions, services and works are to be undertaken for the period relevant to the Plan to achieve a sustainable future. The current Management Plan deals with the period 2008-2010.
The draft Management Plan for 2008-10 was publicly exhibited and endorsed by Council meeting of 24 June 2008. The Plan is operational as at 1 July 2008.
The long term strategic plan for Strathfield is contained in Vision 2020, which outlines the key goals and objectives from 2006 to 2020.
The Local Government Act 1993 specifies certain items that must be contained within the Management Plan. This includes the principal activities and services that Council intends to undertake, how those activities are to be measured (Key Performance Indicators), details of capital works, Council’s expected income and expenditure together with forecasts for at least the following two years, and any rates and fees and charges to be levied.
The General Manager reports to Council each quarter over the life of the Plan on the progress achieved. An annual report for the previous year is included in council’s formal Annual Report each November.
