Strathfield Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year announced
Strathfield's Citizen and Young Citizen of the the Year has been announced, with Mohit Tolani and Matthew Nicholl presented with their awards at ceremony on Australia Day.
Citizen of the Year Mohit Tolani was recognised for his extensive volunteer work with various not-for-profit organisations, including the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME) and the Australian League of Immigration Volunteers.
Young Citizen of the Year Matthew Nicholl is a former St Patrick’s College student that led a group that raised $96,500 to build a library for underprivileged children in Papua New Guinea. Matthew will again visit Papua New Guinea next month to teach English and assist with the building of the new library.
